Sun, Rain, Dogs and Sharks

Saturday morning I woke up ridiculously excited- it was Fall Mini Session day AND the sun was poking through. Then my husband convinced me at 7am that we had time to go to a Ski Swap before I needed to be at Volunteer Park to meet my first family. When we came out of the Swap, it was absolutely POURING rain. My spirits were nearly as doused as my hair as we walked back to the car. It seemed even more dismal as I waited, hunched under my umbrella in the park as the minutes clicked closer to the first session. But then, miraculously, the rain lightened up and we started the first session without needing umbrellas at all. Bu the end of that half hour, the sun poked through sending warm rays shining down on us.

The families were incredible. And believe it or not, the weather was almost as incredible. Seattle rain nearly almost made things really difficult. I’m so glad it didn’t! 6 families, 9 kids, 8 parents, 1 grandma, 1 dog and 1 stuffed Shark made it through. Fairly dry, to boot. It did make for a very, very busy day, though. I can’t at all complain, we had so much fun and captured some great stuff!!

So now this week I have been bogged down with over 1500 images to go through from this last weekend. I can barely tear myself away from the computer because there are so many good ones. I want to get through them so I can post all the finished images for these awesome families, I know they are going to be super excited to see them. Hopefully this will be a sufficient peek! There are a lot of images in this post, I know. I really wanted to show some from all the families. ALL the sessions went great! Amazing actually, beautifully, SHOCKINGLY well (really can’t get over the cooperation of the weather). Too many great kid’s faces to narrow it down. And I wanted to post one of each of them. They are all so SO adorable.

I would love to do another round of Mini-Sessions before the end of the year. The success of this first round has really spurred me on to do it again. I think Holiday Mini-Sessions right before the Season’s rush would be do-able. And it would be awesome to get up to the snow, don’t you think? The logistics of that one would be a bit harder, but I think I have learned from this session how a downpour could dampen the whole thing. That is something needing more thoughts and brainstorming, for sure. But not now, as I would rather focus on all the many more of these images I still need to get through. My goal is to have them all uploaded to Zenfolio by the middle of next week. Until then, this is my little sneak peek. Enjoy!
